AeroSeal Duct Sealing

The Best AeroSeal Duct Sealing Service for Louisville, Kentucky

Most homes’ air duct systems lose 25% – 40% of their air, leaking hundreds of cubic feet of air per minute. Duct sealing can reduce the waste by up to 90%.

Whether you realize it or not, leaking duct vents are costing you money. Leaks cause conditioned air to seep into the attic or crawl space before it reaches your home’s interior. Your HVAC system consumes more energy as it works harder and longer to keep you comfortable within your home.

AeroSeal duct sealing is a specialized process designed to seal these money draining leaks. Imagine being able to…

  • Saves up to 40% every month on your energy bill
  • Improve your family’s comfort in your hard-to-heat or cool rooms as air is delivered where it is designed to go, and not into your basement, attic, or crawl space
  • Raise the air quality for your entire family by reducing dust, allergens, and indoor air pollutants in your home that return air ducts pull in and send through your HVAC system
  • Use a non-toxic (the primary component is used in chewing gum) substance that has been used in hospitals and government institutions

Testing the Air Flow in Your Home

The duct system in your home distributes heated and cooled air throughout the house. When working correctly, the duct system should distribute air evenly, and your home should reach and maintain the desired temperature efficiently. However, if your ducts leak air, your furnace and air conditioning system will have to run harder to reach the temperature set-point. Additionally, a leaky duct system can lead to some rooms being too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.

Many homes lose about 20% to 30% of the conditioned air through gaps often found at the seams in the ductwork and air handler. Since heating and cooling your home accounting for almost 50% of your home’s energy usage, duct sealing is the number one energy-saving home improvement, saving more energy than the installation of new windows while costing you dramatically less.

Since most homes have leaky ductwork, it is wise to consult with one of our experts at Jarboe’s Plumbing, Heating & Cooling. Our technician will pressurize your duct system, by blocking the vents and registers in your home, in order to find cracks or holes that are leaking air. He will then measure the air leakage and determine if you should consider duct sealing for your home. If you choose to seal your air ducts, our technician will use the Aeroseal process to distribute the sealant throughout the duct system. He will monitor the process and show you improved performance as it is graphed for your reference. You will get a printed report showing the decrease in air leakage based on the original pressurized test that was conducted.

Why Should I Choose AeroSeal Duct Sealing from Jarboe’s Plumbing, Heating & Cooling?

The Aeroseal duct sealing process takes a great deal of guesswork out of the equation. Duct sealing can be difficult when it comes to finding and reaching the leaks because they are all too often in a hard-to-access place. Ducts are usually hard to reach in general, and without highly trained technicians, the evaluation can possibly inadvertently damage your duct system.

That’s why the Aeroseal duct sealing process is a key part of Jarboe’s Plumbing, Heating & Cooling services. A pre-test is run after pressurizing your duct system by sealing off all vents and registers and forcing air to leave the system through leaks that are present. If that pre-testing shows that your home will benefit from duct sealing, the Aeroseal sealant will be introduced to the pressurized system as it runs. The sealant particles are suspended in the air as they are pushed through the system. As the particles collide with the edge of a breach, they stick in place, sealing the leak. Duct sealing solves the air leakage problem without having to physically reach any tricky spots in your ducts.

What are the benefits of the Aeroseal process?

The amount of air leaking from your ducts is dramatically reduced leading to lower energy bills and healthier air as well as a more efficient HVAC system with a longer lifespan. This is a safe, non-invasive process that does not damage your walls or furnishings.
