Jarboe's Awards $5,000 in Scholarships to Class of 2024 Seniors

LOUISVILLE (May 14, 2024) – Jarboe’s Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, a leading heating, cooling and plumbing company serving greater Louisville, is proud to announce it has awarded $5,000 in scholarships to five deserving high school seniors through its MAX Scholarships for Leadership program.

Since 2015, MAX Service Group, the company that operates Jarboe’s Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, has awarded five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in each market where the company operates. This year’s scholarship recipients include:

Jade V., Bullitt East High School

Jade has an impressive academic record with a 4.3 weighted GPA and membership in prestigious organizations like National Honor Society and Beta Club. Her leadership roles as current Secretary and future Vice-President of her FFA chapter, coupled with her achievements as a championship-winning athlete with the Louisville Stunner-Ledford National Fastpitch Softball team, highlight her ability to excel both academically and athletically. Among those within the community that she’s helped include students in need, veterans and local nursing home residents.

Elizabeth J., Sacred Heart Academy

Both in and outside of the classroom, Elizabeth is a leader. This year she earned a spot on the Community Service Honor Roll for exceeding service hour requirements. She has spent countless hours volunteering for organizations like The Franciscan Kitchen, Keeping Louisville Warm, Salvation Army Angel Tree, Frankie’s Family and more. Additionally, she’s been a leader on the school’s volleyball team.

Genesis R., Louisville Male High School

There are multiple instances where Genesis has displayed resilience, determination, and a strong commitment to her education. She began working at a retirement home when she was just 14 years old. Spending time in the cafeteria allowed her to learn each resident’s name and forge friendships. Just one year later, she successfully negotiated a pay increase and continued to serve this community she cared so much about. Genesis hopes to attend an historically black college and wants to become a physician.

Ethan F., Charlestown High School

Despite a demanding schedule that includes athletics and volunteerism, Ethan has maintained an exceptional academic record, ranking in the top 10% of his class with a 4.25 GPA and earning an Indiana Academic Honors Diploma. His dedication to serving his community through volunteer work, coaching youth sports teams, and mentoring younger students showcases his commitment to making a positive impact. He volunteers with several organizations, including the North Clark Outreach Center, Bikes for Them, and the Charlestown Youth Football League and the Charlestown Pirate Youth Basketball League. Ethan is also active in several clubs in school, including National Honor Society, Scholar Athletes and Innovative Leaders club.

Abigayle H., Jeffersonville High School

Abigayle is a leader who is a beacon for joy and strength within her school. She is the Senior Class President, part of Junior Achievement, and is active in her school’s communications department through work on WHJI. Her leadership skills have been on display in Washington, DC where she and her mother have talked to legislators about passing safety measures that would have prevented the accident that took her sister’s life.

“We are thrilled to once again support our local community by recognizing some of its youngest leaders,” said Mike Roszkowski, President of Jarboe’s Heating, Cooling & Plumbing. “As an organization, we prioritize hard work, initiative and leadership. These scholarship winners, all nominated by their loved ones and peers, display those same values. We’re proud and excited to support them and wish them all the best in their promising futures.”

MAX Scholarships for Leadership is part of the MAX Gives campaign that focuses on charitable contributions to the community. Other community involvement and charitable initiatives have included HVAC giveaways to families in need and teachers, water heater giveaways to first responders and community volunteers, monthly donations to various charities, and donations to families during the holiday season.
